The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured its third chairmanship seat in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council elections, with candidate Daniel Nuhu declared the winner of the Kwali area council. Nuhu polled 17,032 votes to defeat his closest rival, Haruna Pai of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 8,575 votes. The result was announced Sunday morning by the INEC presiding officer at the final collation centre in Kwali. With this victory, APC now controls three of the four area councils declared so far. INEC had previously announced APC winners in AMAC and Bwari area councils, while the PDP secured victory in Gwagwalada. Results from the remaining two area councils, Abaji and Kuje, are still awaited.
