Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has dismissed fears over opposition coalition talks ahead of the 2027 elections, stating that APC remains confident. Speaking in Abuja, he emphasized that democracy thrives on competition. APC also launched a digital membership registration initiative to strengthen its electoral strategy.

Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma, has dismissed concerns over the opposition's recent political maneuvers, stating that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains unshaken ahead of the 2027 elections. He made this statement at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, where the party formalized a digital membership registration initiative.

The initiative, implemented in collaboration with Tunmef Global Limited, aims to modernize party records and ensure an updated database of APC members across Nigeria. During his speech, Uzodimma emphasized that political competition is a fundamental aspect of democracy and expressed confidence in APC’s ability to retain power.

His remarks follow reports of meetings among key opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Cross River State Governor Liyel Imoke, and former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal. Additionally, ex-Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola reportedly held discussions fueling speculation of a coalition against APC.

Despite these talks, Uzodimma insisted that the ruling party is not worried, maintaining that Nigerians will ultimately decide their leaders through the ballot. APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje also commended President Bola Tinubu for endorsing the digital membership registration, highlighting its significance in ensuring accurate party records for strategic planning and legal purposes.

He urged APC governors and state chairmen to support the project, stressing that its success depends on their cooperation.
