Rauf Aregbesola's political group, Omoluabi Progressives, has officially left the APC, citing internal party issues and dissatisfaction with recent election outcomes. The group, formed after the dissolution of The Osun Progressives, is focused on providing responsible leadership for Osun's future, aiming for success in the 2026 governorship election.

The Omoluabi Progressives, a group loyal to former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, has announced its decision to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2026 governorship election. This move follows dissatisfaction with the APC’s management of internal crises, expulsions, and lack of fair treatment for their leaders.

The group, which emerged after the dissolution of The Osun Progressives (TOP), criticized the APC for its poor performance in the recent elections. Despite this, Aregbesola commended the group for their dedication to good governance and emphasized the importance of unity to strengthen Osun’s political future.

The Omoluabi Progressives are now looking to align with a new political platform, aiming to provide responsible leadership and improve Osun’s prospects. With ongoing efforts to engage more members, the group is positioning itself as a strong contender in the upcoming 2026 election.
