In a disturbing incident in Aba, Abia State, unidentified armed men kidnapped two prominent figures from the ruling Labour Party (LP) during a meeting held at a local hotel. The attackers, who were masked and heavily armed, disrupted the gathering, stating they were acting on undisclosed orders from “above.”
The victims include Ceekay Igara, the LP's Deputy National Chairman, and Prince G. O. Ndubueze, the Acting State Chairman. Eyewitnesses indicated that Ndubueze was forcibly taken away in an unmarked vehicle, raising serious concerns among attendees.
Following the abduction, party members present at the meeting erupted in solidarity chants, denouncing the violent act as “anti-people” and voicing their frustrations regarding the worsening security situation in the state. The Labour Party leadership is now urging authorities to take immediate action to tackle these security challenges and protect its members.
