The Chief of Army Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, has issued a stern warning to bandits, terrorists, and criminals, advising them to leave Nigeria. He made this statement during his maiden operational visit to the 1 Division Nigerian Army troops in Kaduna on December 11, 2024. Oluyede emphasized that the Nigerian Army, under his leadership, was ready to deploy full force in confronting these criminal elements.
He further declared that adversaries should be prepared to face a more powerful and determined military, signaling a shift toward a more aggressive approach. Oluyede also shared that he had signed his command philosophy, which prioritizes leadership, sound administration, and professionalism. He stressed that the welfare of soldiers would be a key focus, stating that enhancing their living conditions, training, and equipment would be essential to their effectiveness.
The army chief acknowledged the critical role of soldiers on the front lines and assured them that new operational strategies would be introduced to improve performance.
Additionally, Oluyede inaugurated several key developments, including the remodeled Stallion Officers' Mess at the division's headquarters and new accommodation facilities at the Kotoko Barracks, Ribadu Cantonment. These initiatives are aimed at boosting the morale and welfare of the troops, enabling them to tackle the country’s security challenges more effectively.
