Tiwa Savage has ruled out signing upcoming artists, citing the stress of managing musicians. Instead, she plans to build a music school to support African artists. She also urges African musicians to strengthen the local industry rather than seeking validation abroad, as she aims for her "mogul era."

Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has revealed why she has no plans to sign emerging artists, citing the challenges of managing musicians. Speaking to Forbes Africa, she explained that handling artists comes with stress and unpredictability, which she is not prepared to take on.

“Artists are stressful,” Savage admitted. “I could be sleeping and wake up to see my artist trending for the wrong reasons.” Instead of signing artists, she plans to support them through a music school initiative, ensuring they receive proper training before joining established labels.

Savage also urged African artists to prioritize strengthening their industry rather than seeking international validation. She emphasized the need for better infrastructure, affordable data, and more investment to make Africa the music hub that others aspire to break into.

Beyond music, Savage has expanded into film production, recently serving as an executive producer on Water & Garri. Looking ahead, she expressed her ambition to enter her “mogul era,” declaring, “Billionaire Tiwa Savage – that’s the goal.”
