Atiku Abubakar's daughter, Laila, recently celebrated her wedding to Saleh Maitala in a charming ceremony held at the National Mosque in Abuja. The event was attended by close family and friends, highlighting its intimate nature. Laila wore a stunning, heavily beaded gown complemented by a pearl-adorned veil, while her groom donned a traditional black Babban Riga with a matching cap.

Atiku, dressed in all-white native attire, expressed his joy on social media, sharing heartfelt wishes for the couple's future together. He expressed gratitude to the many dignitaries who honored the occasion with their presence. Notable attendees included Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party; Umar Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State; and former Kaduna governor Nasir el-Rufai. Other significant figures present included former head of state Abdulsalami Abubakar and Sule Lamido, a former governor of Jigawa State.
