Atiku Abubakar, the People's Democratic Party's presidential candidate, is set to address the controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu's academic records in a world press conference today. This development comes after academic records from Chicago State University (CSU) were released, revealing discrepancies in Tinubu's 1979 CSU certificate that he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The press conference invitation reads, "This is to inform and invite you to the World Press Conference of Our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, GCON, at the Yar’Adua Centre, Tomorrow, Thursday 5, October 2023, in the afternoon.
Atiku secured the release of Tinubu's educational records from CSU through a court subpoena, challenging the authenticity of the certificate Tinubu presented to INEC. The released records raised questions as they differed from samples of certificates issued to students in 1979.
CSU's Registrar, under oath, admitted his inability to authenticate Tinubu's certificate. Atiku had maintained silence on the matter until this upcoming press conference, where he is expected to address the discrepancies and implications surrounding Tinubu's academic records.
