Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar warns Edo voters against choosing the APC in the upcoming governorship election, emphasizing the need for change. He criticizes the APC for neglecting citizens' needs and supports Dr. Asue Ighodalo as a candidate capable of bringing integrity and progress to Edo State.

In a statement shared on his social media account, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar cautioned the citizens of Edo State against supporting candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming governorship election. Atiku urged voters to seek meaningful change, emphasizing that the APC has neglected the core principles of effective governance and ignored the struggles of ordinary citizens.

As Edo voters prepare for the polls on September 21, 2024, Atiku highlighted the power they hold to escape the grips of poor governance. He criticized the APC for presenting itself as a friend to the masses while, in reality, prioritizing its quest for power over the welfare of the people.

Atiku lamented that under the APC’s leadership, Nigeria has descended into a state of suffering marked by poverty and insecurity. He pointed out that many citizens are struggling to meet even basic needs, attributing these challenges to the party's policies.

In contrast, Atiku expressed support for Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the candidate from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), calling him a symbol of integrity and a promising alternative for Edo State. He urged voters to reflect on their past experiences with the APC and consider Ighodalo as a means to reclaim their future.

Atiku's message emphasizes the urgency for Edo voters to choose wisely, stating that their vote could signal a rejection of the APC’s broken promises and a step toward a brighter future.
