Texas attorney Tony Buzbee faces backlash after naming Jay-Z and Diddy in a lawsuit alleging the rape of a 13-year-old girl in 2000. Buzbee, defiant against alleged harassment, vows to protect his clients and pursue justice. Jay-Z denies the claims, labeling them as fabrications for personal gain.
Prominent Texas attorney Tony Buzbee has escalated legal proceedings against entertainment moguls Sean "Diddy" Combs and Jay-Z, filing an anonymous lawsuit alleging sexual assault of a minor at a 2000 MTV Video Music Awards after-party.
A former Marine, Buzbee responded to mounting pressure by sharing an Instagram post declaring his resilience. He claims he and his family have been subjected to harassment, including attempts to discredit him professionally and personally.
The lawsuit alleges that a 13-year-old girl was drugged and sexually assaulted by Combs and Jay-Z, with another unidentified celebrity present. The victim reportedly became disoriented after consuming a suspicious beverage and was subsequently assaulted in a private room. The legal document claims the alleged assault has led to long-term psychological trauma for the victim, including post-traumatic stress disorder and a seizure disorder.
Jay-Z strongly denied the allegations in a passionate statement, characterizing the lawsuit as a "blackmail attempt" and accusing Buzbee of being an "ambulance chaser." He emphasized the potential impact on his family, particularly his children, and maintained his innocence.
Combs, currently detained in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center on separate sex trafficking charges, has also denied all allegations through his legal team. They described Buzbee's lawsuit as a "shameless publicity stunt" designed to extract payments from celebrities.
A judge has allowed the anonymous lawsuit to proceed, indicating sufficient cause to continue the legal proceedings.
