In a shocking crime, 23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye, a philosophy student at Olabisi Onabanjo University, confessed to killing his churchmate, Christiana Idowu, during a phone repair visit. The incident occurred when Idowu, an 18-year-old IT student, visited Adeleye's home to fix her phone. While she was preoccupied with Adeleye's device, he strangled her, believing he could secure financial relief.
After committing the heinous act, Adeleye placed Idowu's lifeless body in a chair and took a photograph, which he later sent to her mother while demanding a ransom. He initially sought three million naira but eventually settled for 360,000 naira after lengthy negotiations. The funds were sent to him through a betting account, which ultimately led to his arrest.
