Baltasar Ebang Engonga, Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency chief, was arrested for allegedly recording explicit videos involving over 300 women, including high-profile individuals. The scandal emerged during a corruption probe, prompting an investigation into potential public health violations due to the leaked content.

Baltasar Ebang Engonga, the Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency in Equatorial Guinea, has been arrested and is under investigation for public health violations. This follows the discovery of more than 400 explicit “workout” videos involving the wives of high-profile individuals, including ministers and even relatives of the President, which surfaced during a fraud investigation into Engonga's activities.

The scandal came to light when officials from the Anti-Narcotics and Financial Investigations (ANIF) conducted an unannounced search of Engonga’s home and office. During this search, they found CDs containing explicit videos, which allegedly feature intimate encounters recorded with the participant's consent. The footage has since leaked online, sparking significant media outrage.

Initially arrested on corruption charges, the investigation took a shocking turn when authorities uncovered the tapes on Engonga's computer. In response to the public outcry, the country’s Attorney General, Nzang Nguema, announced plans to submit Engonga for medical testing to check for sexually transmitted diseases, citing concerns over public health implications arising from the released material.
