Barcelona advanced to the Champions League semi-finals despite a 3-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund, with Serhou Guirassy’s hat-trick nearly undoing their advantage. A second-half own goal from Dortmund helped Barca survive a scare, securing a 5-3 aggregate win in a tense quarter-final clash.

Barcelona endured a tense Champions League quarter-final second leg in Dortmund, securing a 5-3 aggregate victory despite a 3-1 loss on the night. The Blaugrana were made to sweat as Borussia Dortmund fought valiantly, with Serhou Guirassy’s hat-trick almost sending the tie into extra time.

The match started in disastrous fashion for Barcelona as goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny conceded an early penalty, which Guirassy converted. Dortmund's relentless pressure nearly paid off again when Gross had a goal ruled out for offside, but it was Guirassy who scored again in the second half, heading in from a corner to give the hosts a 2-0 lead on the night.

However, Barcelona fought back through a freak own goal by Dortmund's Ramy Bensebaini, following a dangerous cross from Fermin Lopez. The visitors struggled to create clear chances, with both Raphinha and Lamine Yamal unable to make an impact, leaving Robert Lewandowski isolated in attack.

Dortmund struck once more when Julien Duranville's cross found Guirassy, who completed his hat-trick. Barcelona survived a nervy finish, with Hansi Flick’s Dortmund pushing for a dramatic equalizer. In the end, despite a shaky performance, Barcelona held onto their aggregate lead and progressed to the semi-finals.
