A Nigerian Correctional Service official, Kabiru Abubakar, allegedly killed his colleague, Aliyu Chiroma, during a food dispute in Bauchi State. The altercation escalated into violence, resulting in Chiroma's death after being rushed to the hospital. Authorities confirm the incident took place outside the correctional facility.

In a disturbing incident in Bauchi State, a member of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Kabiru Abubakar, has been accused of killing his colleague, Aliyu Chiroma, over a lunch dispute. The confrontation took place in Burra, Ningi Local Government Area, where both men worked at the Burra Correctional Center.

Reports indicate that the conflict began when Chiroma brought lunch and Abubakar insisted on sharing the meal against Chiroma's wishes. This disagreement escalated into a physical altercation, during which witnesses said Abubakar headbutted Chiroma, causing him to fall to the ground.

The situation attracted the attention of nearby individuals, who intervened and rushed Chiroma to the General Hospital in Burra. Sadly, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Aminu Ahmed, the spokesperson for the NCoS in Bauchi State, confirmed the incident, emphasizing that it occurred outside the correctional facility. Both Abubakar and Chiroma were serving at the same institution, with Chiroma originating from Giade Local Government Area and Abubakar from Dass Local Government Area.

Following the tragedy, Chiroma's body has been released to his family for burial. The chairman of Ningi Local Government Area, Nasiru Zakari, expressed his condolences and called for better conflict resolution strategies among staff to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
