Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed suggests that if President Tinubu’s policies continue, Tinubu might be invited to lead the PDP's 2027 presidential campaign. Mohammed criticized current government policies for worsening economic conditions and questioned the effectiveness of federal palliatives, calling for a reassessment of governance.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has suggested that President Bola Tinubu could become the campaign director for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 elections if current policies persist. Mohammed's remarks, made during the PDP local councils election campaign launch in Bauchi on August 7, reflect his concerns about the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

Mohammed criticized the federal government's handling of key issues such as economic management, unemployment, and education. He asserted that the policies under President Tinubu's leadership have exacerbated these problems, contributing to widespread dissatisfaction among Nigerians.

“If President Tinubu maintains his current course, the PDP will have an easier path to victory in 2027. I will personally invite him to lead our campaign,” Mohammed declared, emphasizing the party’s belief that the APC’s governance is self-damaging.

The governor also questioned the effectiveness of the federal government’s recent measures, including its palliative efforts. He expressed skepticism over claims of substantial aid, highlighting that these measures do not address fundamental economic challenges faced by ordinary Nigerians. Mohammed’s comments serve as a pointed critique of both current policy and the broader state of governance.

As he urged for a reevaluation of federal policies, Mohammed positioned the #EndBadGovernance protests as a critical signal for reform, particularly within the northern elite.
