Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed has criticized President Tinubu’s policies, claiming they are causing widespread suffering. Citing tax reforms as a key issue, Mohammed urged Tinubu to listen to Nigerians and correct his mistakes. The governor also called on Islamic scholars to mediate and help address the nation's pressing challenges.

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has openly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies, asserting that they are ineffective and causing widespread suffering across Nigeria. Governor Mohammed made these remarks while addressing a delegation of Islamic scholars led by Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir.

Expressing concern over the nation’s challenges, Mohammed highlighted the negative impact of the president’s tax reforms, which he described as detrimental to both citizens and state governments. “Nigerians are suffering, and we, the governors, are also struggling due to the president’s bad policies,” he stated, emphasizing the need for constructive dialogue and policy adjustments.

The governor acknowledged that no government could thrive without revenue but argued that the current approach was unsustainable. Citing quarrels between state governors and the presidency, he urged Tinubu to heed the pleas of Nigerians and rectify his administration’s missteps.

In his appeal, Governor Mohammed tasked Sheikh Jingir and other influential figures with relaying these concerns to the president. He described Sheikh Jingir as one of the few individuals capable of persuading Tinubu to reconsider his stance.

The governor’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions, with some commending his boldness in addressing national issues, while others criticized his administration’s performance in Bauchi. As the debate continues, many Nigerians await tangible solutions to the country's economic and social challenges.
