Boniface and Tella would become the third and fourth Nigerians to claim the Bundesliga trophy, following in the footsteps of Oliseh, who won with Borussia Dortmund in 2001–02, and Ojigwe, who achieved the feat with Kaiserslautern in 1997/98.
