In the latest twist of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 9, the pair Nelita, consisting of Nelly Mbonu and Anita Ukah, has been crowned the Heads of House (HoH) for the third week. Their selection came after a voting process where housemates cast their ballots for their preferred pair. Nelita emerged with the highest votes, securing their new role for the week. However, in a notable change from previous seasons, this HoH position does not confer immunity from eviction. Instead, Nelita will have the authority to decide the punishment for any housemate who breaches the rules during the week.
In addition to the HoH announcement, the custodianship for the week was claimed by Team Wanni x Handi, consisting of Wanni and Handi. Winning the Custodian Challenge grants them automatic immunity from the upcoming eviction, along with the power to influence the nominations for potential evictions in the coming week.
The current season of BBNaija, which premiered on July 28, began with 28 housemates paired into 14 teams. This season will run for 71 days, concluding on October 6. The winner will take home a grand prize of N100 million. Previously, the Mbadiwe Twins secured the first HoH title, while Team Ndi Nne made history as the first to be evicted after winning the second week’s HoH role.
