Bianca Ojukwu reaffirms loyalty to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) despite her ministerial appointment as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in President Bola Tinubu's administration. APGA chairman praises Tinubu’s inclusive governance approach, highlighting collaboration between opposition figures and the ruling APC.
Bianca Ojukwu, the newly appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, has reaffirmed her loyalty to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) despite her ministerial role in President Bola Tinubu's administration. This comes as a rare instance of collaboration between an opposition figure and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
APGA’s national chairman, Sly Ezeokenwa, clarified during a recent interview that Ojukwu has not resigned from the party, and she continues to hold a position as a member of its Board of Trustees. Ezeokenwa praised President Tinubu's inclusive approach to governance, which has allowed opposition figures like Ojukwu to contribute to national development.
Though the appointment places Ojukwu in a significant position within the APC-led government, she remains deeply rooted in her APGA affiliation, an aspect highlighted by both her party and the political community. The 56-year-old former Nigerian Ambassador to Spain is known for her diplomatic experience, and her appointment as a minister showcases her continued influence in Nigerian politics.
Ezeokenwa emphasized that APGA’s support for Ojukwu’s acceptance of the ministerial role is a step towards fostering bipartisan collaboration, marking a new chapter of engagement between opposition members and the ruling party. Despite her new role, Ojukwu's ties to APGA remain strong, underlining her commitment to both her political roots and her duties in the Tinubu administration.
