Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan faces money laundering trial in Abuja court, appearing on a wheelchair. EFCC's case continues amid health concerns and legal motions.
Tigran Gambaryan, an executive of Binance Holdings Limited, appeared at the Abuja Federal High Court on Tuesday for trial on charges of money laundering. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned Gambaryan and Binance in April on five counts related to financial crimes.
During the court session, Gambaryan was initially brought in in a wheelchair, stood, and walked slowly into the dock. The EFCC counsel requested an adjournment due to the absence of their lead counsel.
The judge granted the request, previously dealing with Gambaryan's health concerns, including a collapse in court and subsequent medical disputes. The court ordered the release of Gambaryan's medical records from the correctional center.
