Bobrisky blames actress Eniola Ajao for his troubles, linking them to a controversial "Best Dressed Female" award he received at her movie premiere. The award, later revealed as a publicity stunt, led to EFCC arrests, jail time, and further scandals. Bobrisky vows to avoid similar awards in the future.
Controversial Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky, real name Okuneye Idris, has publicly held actress Eniola Ajao responsible for his recent troubles, linking them to an award he received earlier this year.
At Ajao's movie premiere in March 2024, Bobrisky was given the “Best Dressed Female” award, which came with a ₦1 million prize. In a later interview, Ajao revealed the award was a publicity stunt to draw attention to her film, not an official recognition. She also clarified that actor Femi Adebayo, who presented the award, had no role in determining the winner.
The aftermath of the award saw Bobrisky arrested by the EFCC for naira abuse at the ceremony, leading to a six-month jail term. The controversy deepened when leaked audio suggested he bribed officials to avoid more severe money laundering charges and served his sentence in relative comfort.
Following his release, Bobrisky faced another arrest and eventually fled the country. On Instagram, he reflected on his experiences, saying, “My problems began the day I collected that award.” Vowing never to accept female-centric awards again, he expressed frustration at the events that unfolded after the stunt.
As of this report, Eniola Ajao has not responded to Bobrisky’s allegations. The situation has sparked discussions online, with critics questioning the ethics of using controversial stunts for publicity.
