Bode George, a former PDP chieftain, claims Nigerians are ready to vote President Tinubu out in the 2027 election due to ongoing economic hardship. He urges party unity and warns against divisive internal politics that could hinder the PDP’s chance to reclaim power from the ruling APC.
Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has expressed confidence that Nigerians will vote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu out of office in the 2027 presidential election. Speaking on Thursday during his 79th birthday celebration in Lagos, George pointed to widespread economic hardship as a catalyst for change.
In a pointed critique of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), George asserted that Tinubu’s administration has mismanaged the economy, causing untold suffering for Nigerians. He emphasized the opportunity for the PDP to reclaim leadership but warned that internal divisions and self-interest among party members could hinder its prospects.
“For the PDP to win in 2027, we must remain united and confront divisive elements within the party head-on. Nigerians are ready to remove APC from power, but we must present a unified front,” George said in his statement.
The PDP has faced its challenges, including leadership crises that have threatened its stability. Ahead of its 99th National Executive Committee meeting scheduled for November 28, 2024, party members are calling for decisive steps to address these issues.
George’s remarks follow a series of accusations against Tinubu, including claims by PDP chieftain Segun Sowunmi that the president is exacerbating the party’s troubles.
