Al Nassr has pulled out of signing Victor Boniface and is now closing in on Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán. The Saudi club is set to pay €77 million for the Colombian striker, leaving Boniface’s future uncertain. The Nigerian forward must now refocus at Bayer Leverkusen after missing out on a move.

Al Nassr has decided to abandon its pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Boniface and is now focusing on Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán instead. The Saudi Pro League side had been in advanced discussions to bring Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen, but negotiations have now collapsed.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, despite progressing talks, Al Nassr never finalized the deal for Boniface. Instead, they have swiftly turned their attention to Durán, a promising 21-year-old Colombian forward.

Aston Villa is set to receive a €77 million fixed fee plus add-ons for Durán, who has agreed to a long-term contract. The young striker is scheduled for a medical on Thursday before flying to Saudi Arabia to complete the transfer.

This twist leaves Boniface’s immediate future uncertain. The Nigerian international was left out of Bayer Leverkusen’s recent Champions League clash against Sparta Prague due to ongoing transfer speculation. With Al Nassr no longer an option, Boniface must now focus on fighting for his spot at Leverkusen, where he remains under contract until 2029.

While Al Nassr strengthens its attack with Durán, Boniface must wait for another opportunity, either in the Bundesliga or elsewhere.
