A family dispute over mango harvesting turned deadly in Benishiekh, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State, as a man allegedly killed his younger brother during a violent altercation.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 25, at around 9:00 a.m. when 40-year-old Kajdi Kachalla and his younger brother, 28-year-old Baba Goni Kachalla, got into a heated argument over mangoes at their family plantation in Ajari. The confrontation quickly escalated into a physical fight, with both men using sticks as weapons.
Eyewitnesses reported that both brothers sustained severe injuries to their heads and mouths. Local authorities responded swiftly, transporting them to the General Hospital in Benishiekh for urgent medical attention.
Unfortunately, Kajdi Kachalla was pronounced dead upon arrival, while Baba Goni remains hospitalized under medical care. His condition is yet to be disclosed by hospital officials.
Following Islamic traditions, Kajdi’s remains were released to his family for burial. Meanwhile, local authorities have launched an investigation into the tragic incident to determine any potential legal actions.
