Speaking for the first time since leaving office six months ago, Buhari revealed that he endorsed the policy to safeguard his integrity and underscore the principle that success demands dedication, dismissing shortcuts.
The ex-president acknowledged the challenges of governing Nigeria, attributing his 2015 election victory to divine intervention. He defended the criticized Naira policy, citing Nigeria's struggle with materialism.
In the interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Buhari highlighted the difficulty of leading Nigerians, asserting that people often resist the right course of action. While dismissing criticism against his administration, he questioned the integrity of his critics and addressed his contentment in post-presidential life. Meanwhile, the embattled ex-CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele, faces an extended stay in prison as the court postpones a decision on his bail until November 22, 2023.
