Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has distanced himself from comparisons to the legendary Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Taking to Instagram on Monday, Burna Boy expressed his displeasure with constant parallels drawn between himself and Fela, asserting his distinct identity as "BIG7."

The "Last Last" singer urged fans to stop associating him with Fela, emphasizing their differing ideologies. While Fela was celebrated for his self-sacrificing activism, Burna Boy stated that he prioritizes his individuality and values over such comparisons.

"All that Burna Boy and Fela talk needs to die now. I’m not Fela; I’m BIG7. I’m all about positivity, peace, and prosperity but honestly, I’d rather kill you than die for you," he declared.
