The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) criticized a viral testimony from a member of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry, claiming divine help in an exam. Bishop Stephen Adegbite denounced the claims as fabrications, emphasizing that true success comes from hard work and faith, not cheating or shortcuts.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is expressing outrage over a viral video featuring a suspected member of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry, who claimed to have received divine assistance during a recent examination. The woman testified that an old man appeared to her in the exam hall, providing answers to questions during a military promotional exam.

She recounted that facing a particularly difficult question about Francophone countries, she declared her identity as a member of the church and called upon divine intervention. According to her, an elderly man in white appeared and instructed her to write the answers, allowing her to complete ten questions correctly. She further claimed that another candidate, a member of a different church, copied her answers after she had completed her own.

Bishop Stephen Adegbite, the Lagos chapter chairman of CAN, condemned the testimony as a “fabrication,” asserting that true divine intervention does not promote cheating. He emphasized that academic success comes through hard work and faith, not shortcuts.

The church’s spokesman, Pastor Chidi Louis, defended the testimony, suggesting it may have been misinterpreted and that members are free to share their experiences without censorship. He dismissed the negative attention as an attempt to tarnish the church's reputation, asserting that the testimonies reflect personal beliefs rather than factual events. CAN plans to convene to address these issues and the increasing number of similar testimonies shared publicly.
