R&B singer Cassie, once signed to Sean Combs's label, has filed a federal lawsuit accusing the renowned music mogul of rape and sustained physical abuse spanning approximately a decade. Cassie, whose real name is Casandra Ventura and was romantically involved with Combs, claims a pattern of control and mistreatment that began in 2005 when she was 19.

The lawsuit outlines disturbing details, including allegations of drug use, physical assault, and coercive sexual encounters orchestrated by Combs. Cassie asserts that after years of enduring the abuse in silence, she is now ready to share her story for the sake of women facing violence in relationships.

Combs vehemently denies these allegations, with his lawyer, Ben Brafman, asserting that Cassie had demanded $30 million over six months, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship. Despite the rejection of this demand, Cassie proceeded to file a lawsuit, which Combs's legal team deems riddled with baseless lies.

This lawsuit adds to a recent wave of sexual assault civil suits against prominent figures in the music industry, shedding light on broader concerns about abuse of power and misconduct. The legal battle unfolds amid a complex narrative that intertwines personal relationships, allegations of violence, and accusations of attempted silencing.
