As the cholera outbreak in Lagos worsens, the Lagos State Government has reported a total of 401 cases and 21 deaths, with Lagos Island, Kosofe, and Eti Osa LGAs being the hardest hit. Dr. (Mrs.) Kemi Ogunyemi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, attributed the surge to recent festivities and emphasized ongoing efforts to curb transmission through surveillance, community sanitation, and collaboration with health and environmental agencies.
She urged residents to maintain hygiene practices and seek immediate medical attention for symptoms, highlighting free treatment available at public health facilities.
The government acknowledged support from local and international partners in tackling the crisis, reaffirming its commitment to public health safety in Lagos.
