The Head Coach for Nigeria's Under-20 Flying Eagles, Ladan Bosso, has summoned 30 players to kickstart preparations for the upcoming games in Accra, Ghana, from March 8 to 24. The final squad for the men's football event at the 13th African Games will be selected from these players.
Nigeria, aiming to surpass its silver medal performance in the previous edition, will compete against Uganda, South Sudan, Senegal, and Tunisia in the group stage. The invited players include goalkeepers Nathaniel Nwosu, Andy Ezekiel, James Friday, and Femi Oriola; defenders Daniel Bameyi, Benjamin Frederick, Ibrahim Abdullahi, Emmanuel Michael, Emmanuel Onoja, Ime Sampson, and Haruna Aliyu; midfielders Daniel Daga, Auwal Ibrahim, Yinka Shola, Farouq Olanrewaju, Chibueze Izuogu, Simon Karshe, Ibrahim Adamu, and Ibrahim Idris; and forwards Kehinde Ibrahim, Danjuma Lawali, Oluwaseyi Akinfenwa, Ibrahim Lawal, Charles Agada, Nasir Muhammed, Sunday Joseph, Olalekan Ibrahim, Muhammad Isiaka, Rabiu Abdullahi, and Nathaniel Arierhi.
In a similar development, Christopher Danjuma, coach of Nigeria's Under-20 Girls, the Falconets, has called up 23 players to prepare for the 13th African Games in Abuja. The competition, featuring over 4,000 athletes in 23 sports, will also showcase demonstration sports like eSports, mixed martial arts, and the ball.
