A woman identified as Oluchukwu Odo has been arrested in Enugu State for allegedly murdering her twin sister and daughter in a shocking act of violence.
The tragic incident reportedly took place in the early hours of Wednesday at the family's residence in Umuidenyi, Aji, Enugu Ezike, Igbo Eze North Local Government Area. Sources indicate that Oluchukwu's sister had visited their parents' home with her child before the attack occurred.
According to a police officer from the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ogrute, who spoke on condition of anonymity, authorities are still piecing together the details surrounding the case. "We are investigating the circumstances that led to this tragedy and will ensure justice is served," he stated.
Eyewitnesses claim that Oluchukwu, in a sudden fit of rage, fatally attacked her twin sister and niece using a heavy object. She then allegedly turned on her mother, stabbing her multiple times. The wounded woman managed to escape and alert neighbors, prompting intervention.
Local security personnel from the Aji Neighbourhood Watch reportedly pursued and apprehended Oluchukwu in a nearby village. Witnesses say she later appeared remorseful, expressing confusion over her actions.
