Federal High Court orders the eviction of Emir Sanusi II from the Kano Palace, following a motion filed by deposed Emir Aminu Bayero. Amidst legal complexities and conflicting orders, tensions escalate in the Kano Emirship tussle.

Federal High Court in Kano has issued a compelling order for the eviction of reinstated Emir Sanusi II from the historic Kano Palace. The ruling stems from an ex-parte motion filed by deposed Emir Aminu Bayero, seeking to assert his rights and privileges.

Ruling on the motion, Justice S. A. Amobeda emphasized the importance of maintaining peace in Kano State amidst the ongoing Emirship tussle.

The court directed the Nigeria Police Force to execute the eviction order and ensure that Bayero is granted access to his official residence at the Emir's Palace in Kofar Kudu.

This ruling follows similar orders issued by a Kano State High Court against Emir Bayero just a day prior, adding to the legal complexity surrounding the case.

The court's decision underscores the legal battle initiated by Bayero to reclaim his position following the repeal of the law that led to the creation of additional emirates in the state.

The suit, which names several government and security agencies as defendants, has been adjourned to June 4, 2024, for further hearing.

This development comes amidst heightened tensions and conflicting orders regarding the status of the Kano Emirate Council.
