A Federal Capital Territory High Court has granted N500 million bail to former Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello, facing charges of criminal breach of trust involving over N110 billion. The bail comes with conditions including the provision of three sureties with properties in specific Abuja areas.

Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, was granted bail by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Maitama. The bail amount is set at N500 million, as he faces accusations of criminal breach of trust involving over N110 billion. The charge violates sections of the Penal Code Law from Northern Nigeria.

Judge Maryann Anenih ordered that Bello must provide three sureties, each responsible for the same N500 million sum, with the sureties required to have verified properties in key areas of Abuja, including Guzape, Wuse 2, Apo, Asokoro, and Jabi. These sureties must also submit two passport photos and identification details, such as their National Identification Number (NIN).
