Allied Air cargo aircraft crash-landed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, due to a landing gear failure. The six crew members were unharmed and received medical assessments. The runway was temporarily closed, causing significant flight delays. Investigations and recovery operations are underway.

A cargo aircraft belonging to Allied Air made an emergency crash-landing at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja on December 11, 2024, due to a malfunction in its landing gear. The aircraft, which was carrying six crew members, suffered a critical failure during the landing process but fortunately, there were no casualties. The crew members were quickly evacuated from the aircraft and are currently undergoing medical assessments at a nearby Nigerian Air Force medical unit.

Emergency responders, including the Military Airport Commandant (MAC) and other relevant agencies, acted swiftly to secure the crash site. The incident led to the temporary closure of the airport’s runway, causing significant delays to both inbound and outbound flights. Passengers and airlines were advised to expect disruptions for an indefinite period as authorities worked to clear the runway and assess any potential damage.

Efforts are underway by airport officials, along with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), to remove the disabled aircraft from the runway. Authorities are also conducting a thorough investigation to understand the cause of the malfunction. Further updates on the situation will be provided as the recovery process progresses, and normal airport operations are expected to resume once the runway is cleared and inspected.
