The top 100 athletes collectively earned $6.2 billion, with footballers dominating the rankings.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the highest-paid athlete of 2024, cementing his legacy as one of the sport’s biggest financial powerhouses. The Portuguese superstar, playing for Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, earned a total of $260 million over the past year, with $215 million coming from his lucrative contract.

Ronaldo comfortably topped the earnings list, leaving behind Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry, who came second with $153.8 million. British boxing champion Tyson Fury ranked third with $147 million, while Lionel Messi, currently with Inter Miami, earned $135 million to sit in fourth place.
