Two Plateau communities were hit by gunmen on Thursday night, leaving at least 15 people dead in renewed violence that residents say came without warning — and without protection. The attacks on Manja (Mangu LGA) and Tangur (Bokkos LGA) have reignited grief and fear in the state, as locals again count bodies in homes turned to gravesites.

In Mangu, seven people were killed. In Bokkos, eight. Witnesses say the attackers came late, broke into houses, and opened fire. There was no security response during the violence. Tension remains high, and official silence louder than the gunshots.
  • Gunmen stormed Mangu and Bokkos LGAs on Thursday night
  • 15 killed: 7 in Mangu, 8 in Bokkos
  • Attacks occurred while residents were in their homes
  • No immediate police response, no arrests reported yet
  • Tension still grips both communities
Plateau isn’t just under siege, it’s under silence. Each new attack feels like a repetition with no resolution. As authorities go quiet, Nigerians wonder: Are these villages doomed to mourn alone? Or will this nation ever break the cycle of condolence without consequence?

No press conference can reverse a bullet. If the state cannot protect the sleeping, who will wake up the system? Plateau’s dead don’t need words. They needed warning.
