Dangote Refinery has partnered with MRS to sell petrol at ₦935 per litre nationwide. This price reduction follows the Nigerian National Petroleum Company’s recent price cuts, reflecting the positive impact of the naira-for-crude swap deal on the Nigerian economy. The initiative aims to provide affordable, high-quality fuel to Nigerians.

Dangote Refinery has announced a partnership with MRS to sell Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), or petrol, at ₦935 per litre nationwide. This move follows a price reduction by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) that brought petrol prices below ₦1,000 per litre. In a statement shared on social media, Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Industries, thanked President Bola Tinubu for the naira-for-crude swap deal, which has positively impacted the Nigerian economy and led to a reduction in petroleum product prices.

Dangote noted that the price of petrol had previously been reduced from ₦970 to ₦899.50 at the Dangote Refinery’s loading gantry, with favorable credit terms offered to marketers. The new ₦935 per litre price will be available at MRS retail outlets nationwide, with the initiative already rolled out in Lagos. This price is expected to extend across the country starting Monday.

Dangote also called on other oil marketers, including NNPC Retail, to join in the effort to provide Nigerians with high-quality petrol at more affordable prices. He emphasized that the Dangote Refinery is committed to benefiting the Nigerian people and ensuring they have access to good-quality fuel that is not only economical but also safe for their vehicles and health.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to stabilize the local economy, as the Federal Executive Council had approved the sale of crude to local refineries in naira, contributing to reduced pressure on the dollar and helping stabilize the naira.
