Dangote Industries Limited responded swiftly to reports of a minor fire at its refinery, clarifying that the incident occurred at the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and was promptly contained. Anthony Chiejina, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer for Dangote Group, assured the public through a statement to NigerianBulletin that operations at the refinery were unaffected and there were no injuries among the staff present.

“We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP) today, Wednesday, 26th of June. There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating, and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all our staff on duty,” Chiejina confirmed.

The statement came in response to initial reports of the fire, which had caused concern about potential disruptions to operations at the refinery, a crucial project with significant national implications for Nigeria's energy sector. Chiejina's assurance aimed to allay fears and emphasize that the refinery continues to function normally.
