IPMAN has secured an agreement with Dangote Refinery to directly supply Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK). This move aims to eliminate middlemen, reduce costs, and ensure a steady supply of petroleum products to over 30,000 members and 150,000 retail outlets.
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has reached a significant agreement with Dangote Refinery to directly supply petroleum products, including Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK). This development was confirmed by IPMAN's National President, Abubakar Garima, following a meeting in Abuja on Monday with Aliko Dangote, the Chairman of Dangote Group.
Garima expressed optimism that this agreement would lead to lower prices for these products, benefiting both IPMAN members and consumers. He highlighted the potential economic benefits, including positive impacts on Nigeria's foreign exchange market. The agreement also aims to streamline the supply chain, eliminating middlemen who have previously inflated prices.
Dangote Refinery committed to supplying products directly to over 30,000 IPMAN members and more than 150,000 retail outlets across the country. This move is expected to improve the availability and affordability of fuel nationwide, addressing the concerns IPMAN had previously raised about difficulties in accessing products from the refinery.
Additionally, Garima mentioned that IPMAN is preparing to transition to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) refilling stations across Nigeria, as the association is currently in talks with the presidential CNG initiative.
This deal marks a new chapter in IPMAN’s efforts to ensure a stable and cost-effective supply of petroleum products across Nigeria, benefiting both marketers and consumers alike.
