Dangote Petroleum Refinery has refuted claims that it has set petrol prices at N600 per litre. The refinery's spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, clarified that it has not engaged with IPMAN on pricing and urged the public to rely on official channels for accurate information as it prepares for petrol supply.

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has denied claims that it has set the price of petrol at N600 per litre. Recent reports suggested that oil marketers projected this price for fuel from the refinery. However, Anthony Chiejina, the group chief branding and communications officer for Dangote Group, clarified that the refinery has not engaged with the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) regarding pricing. He emphasized that IPMAN is not a business partner of Dangote and does not have the authority to make such statements.

Chiejina urged the public to avoid relying on speculative reports and assured that any official information about petrol pricing would be communicated through the refinery's established channels. This clarification comes as the Dangote refinery is expected to start petrol supply in August, as previously announced. The refinery’s denial aims to address confusion and prevent misinformation about fuel prices.
