Four Nigerian business tycoons—Aliko Dangote, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Mike Adenuga, and Femi Otedola—have been recognized in Forbes’ 2025 Billionaires List, reinforcing their influence in Africa’s economic landscape.

Dangote Retains Top Spot

Aliko Dangote, Africa’s wealthiest individual for 14 consecutive years, saw a significant rise in his fortune, now valued at $23.9 billion, up from $13.9 billion last year. The increase is attributed to the growing valuation of Dangote Refinery, which became fully operational in 2024.

Adenuga, Rabiu, and Otedola Secure Their Rankings

Mike Adenuga, the founder of Globacom, ranks among Africa’s top five billionaires with an estimated $6.8 billion fortune. Abdulsamad Rabiu, chairman of BUA Group, follows closely with $5.1 billion, cementing his status as one of the continent’s wealthiest industrialists.

Femi Otedola, a major investor in First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) Holdings Plc, lands in the 16th position, with $1.5 billion. His increasing wealth is linked to the soaring market value of Geregu Power Plc, where he holds a significant stake.

Africa’s Wealthiest Surpass $100 Billion

Forbes reports that Africa’s billionaires collectively amassed $105 billion in 2025, a sharp increase from $82.4 billion the previous year. South Africa has the highest number of billionaires, followed by Nigeria and Egypt.

Despite economic uncertainties, these business magnates continue to expand their wealth, shaping Africa’s financial future.
