Daniel Bwala, a former PDP member and Atiku Abubakar’s campaign spokesperson, confirms his departure from the party and hints at rejoining the APC. His recent political shift has stirred reactions, with Bwala now showing support for President Tinubu’s policies.
Daniel Bwala, a prominent lawyer and policy analyst, has officially announced his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). During an interview on Channels Television’s "Politics Today," Bwala confirmed his exit from the PDP and hinted at a potential return to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Bwala, who previously served as the spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 presidential campaign, stated, "I am not a member of the PDP. Yes, I have left the PDP." When asked about rejoining the APC, he responded that he is "very close" to making the switch.
Bwala, once a vocal critic of President Bola Tinubu during the election campaign, has since shown support for Tinubu's policies. In January, he visited President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and later met with him in Paris, France. Bwala defended these visits by asserting that he had informed Atiku Abubakar beforehand. Despite speculation, Bwala dismissed claims that his actions were aimed at securing a government position. His shift in allegiance has sparked various reactions, with some accusing him of opportunism while others see it as a strategic move.
