In a harrowing incident on Thursday, bandits launched a daring attack on Kawu community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, resulting in the abduction of 23 residents. According to Abdulmumini Zakari, the councilor representing the area, the assailants, believed to have emerged from the Kuyeri Forest in Kaduna State, executed a meticulously planned operation, dividing themselves into groups.
The district head's palace was a primary target, where the son of Alhaji Abdurrahman Danjuma Ali, Lukman, and his newlywed wife were abducted.
The bandits also targeted the compound of Alhaji Alhassan Sidi Kawu, the Marafa of Kawu and former PDP Chairman of Kawu Ward, abducting him and his four children. Furthermore, Sarkin Pawan Kawu, Gambo Pawa, fell victim as the assailants seized him, along with his two wives and children.
The FCT Police Command confirmed the incident.
