Despite assistance from Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, which prevented their eviction from an apartment in Lagos, Zainab revealed that the funds provided were insufficient to cover their living expenses.
In a recent interview, Zainab detailed the struggles she, her mother, and her brother have endured since the death of her father. She acknowledged the governor's earlier intervention, which helped settle outstanding hotel bills, but emphasized that they remain in a precarious situation. According to Zainab, the family needs a permanent home in Lagos to regain stability, but the funds received so far are not enough to secure a suitable residence.
Zainab expressed her desire for a house in Lagos, rather than Kano, to ensure her family’s safety and freedom. She highlighted the challenges of living in a polygamous family, which has left her and her immediate family without a share of her father’s estate. As a result, they have been forced to move from hotel to hotel, struggling to make ends meet.
