Nigerian music icon Davido has announced that he and his wife, Chioma, will celebrate their white wedding in Miami this August. The Grammy-nominated singer shared the news during an interview on The Breakfast Club, where he reflected on cultural differences between Nigerian and American marriages.

Davido explained that Nigerian unions often involve extended family dynamics, where parents, especially mothers, continue to have a strong influence on their children even after marriage. In contrast, he noted, American marriages tend to focus solely on the couple.

The "Assurance" singer reminisced about their vibrant traditional wedding in Nigeria, describing it as a nationwide celebration that temporarily brought the country to a halt. According to him, the upcoming Miami ceremony will mark a continuation of their journey together.

Davido candidly spoke about the intense public scrutiny their relationship has endured, particularly following personal tragedies and past mistakes. Despite the challenges, he praised Chioma’s strength and discretion, highlighting her preference to stay out of the public eye.
