Nigerian music superstar Davido recently expressed his concerns about the apparent bias of the Nigerian media. He feels that while they're quick to highlight controversies, the positive actions taken by people like him are often overlooked.
Davido's comments came after a breach of contract allegation involving a concert organized by former NFF President Amaju Pinnick. However, when asked for a comment on this matter, Davido shifted the focus to a broader issue with the media and asked, "When I made significant donations to Nigerian orphanages, where was extensive coverage? It seems like the media is more interested in controversies than positive actions."
It's worth noting that Davido has been involved in several charitable initiatives, including his donation of N50 million to 292 orphanages across Nigeria. In November 2021, he rallied support from his peers in the entertainment industry, amassing a total of N250 million, which was aimed at supporting the less privileged. However, Davido feels that such actions must receive the attention they deserve.
On a personal level, the artist and his partner, Chioma, celebrated the arrival of their twins, adding a joyous note to his life. This situation highlights the broader issue of media representation in Nigeria. While controversies might be more sensational, the media must recognize and highlight the commendable actions of individuals, ensuring a balanced narrative for the public.
