Nigerian-American music superstar Davido revealed on December 5, 2024, that his highly anticipated fifth studio album, 5ive, will be released in 2025. The artist shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, stating that the album is a reflection of his journey, growth, and truth.

To kick off the album rollout, Davido announced the release of the first single, Funds, which features Nigerian artists Odumodublvck and Chike. The song will be available on December 5 at 6 p.m. EST. Davido described Funds as an anthem for dreamers and go-getters, encouraging listeners to chase their dreams and stay true to their grind.

The track, which samples South African legend Brenda Fassie’s 1997 hit Vuli Ndlela, was previously performed by Davido and Odumodublvck at his birthday concert in Atlanta. Speaking about the collaboration, Davido emphasized that Funds celebrates both the hustle and the rewards of hard work. He described the song as a vibe that transcends cultures and celebrates African pride and global sounds.
