Senator Ned Nwoko has officially resigned from the PDP and defected to the APC. Citing growing factionalism and internal divisions within the PDP, Nwoko expressed his commitment to fulfilling promises to his Delta North constituents. He emphasized the need for unity and progress, marking the shift to APC as necessary.
After months of speculation, Senator Ned Nwoko of Delta North has officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman in Delta State, Nwoko cited the escalating divisions and factionalization within the PDP as the main reasons for his departure. He expressed that these divisions had become irreconcilable, making it difficult to work towards the collective interests of his constituents.
Nwoko, a founding member of the PDP since 1999, acknowledged the party's role in his political career, especially in helping him contest the 2022/2023 senatorial election. However, he pointed out that the current state of the party no longer aligned with his vision for the people of Delta North. He highlighted a recent physical altercation between senior PDP members as a symbol of the dysfunction within the party.
In his resignation letter, Nwoko reassured his constituents that his commitment to their progress and prosperity remains unwavering. He emphasized that his decision to switch parties was made in the best interest of those he serves and to ensure that he could fulfill the promises made during his campaign. While he bade farewell to the PDP, he expressed his dedication to advancing the interests of Delta North within the APC.
