Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has praised President Tinubu and the Nigerian Armed Forces for major strides in reducing insecurity. He cited declines in insurgent activity and kidnapping, crediting the improvements with enabling new economic reforms. Barau urged national support for Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to stabilize and grow Nigeria.

Nigeria’s Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has applauded President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian military for what he described as significant progress in restoring national security. The praise comes amid continued scrutiny over the country’s ongoing challenges with insurgency and violent crime.

In a statement issued Tuesday through his media aide, Barau emphasized a noticeable reduction in armed attacks, kidnappings, and insurgent activity across key regions. According to him, major roads such as the Abuja-Kaduna corridor—once infamous for frequent abductions—have seen a decline in violent incidents under the current administration.

He also credited military operations in the North-West for weakening armed groups and noted that life in five of the six North-East states had returned to relative normalcy, save for isolated attacks in Borno State.

Despite concerns raised by figures like Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and Governor Babagana Zulum regarding renewed violence in some zones, Barau maintained that national security has seen clear improvement since Tinubu assumed office.

Barau further linked the launch of new economic initiatives—such as the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones—to enhanced security, which he said was laying the groundwork for long-term growth.

“Rebuilding takes time,” he stated, “but President Tinubu is taking the right steps to correct years of mismanagement.”

Calling for unity, Barau urged Nigerians to support the administration’s reform agenda, including ongoing fiscal, monetary, and investment-driven strategies.
