Chelsea’s Cole Palmer continues to struggle despite a 4-0 win over Southampton, extending his goalless run to seven games. Despite multiple attempts, he failed to convert chances, raising concerns about his form. Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca remains confident Palmer will regain his touch as tougher fixtures loom ahead.

Chelsea secured a dominant 4-0 win over Southampton, but it was another frustrating night for Cole Palmer, whose struggles in front of goal continued. The 22-year-old has now gone seven consecutive games without scoring and has failed to register an assist in 14 matches.

Despite his efforts, including a game-high seven shots, Palmer could not find the net. Early in the match, he missed two clear-cut chances, highlighting his lack of confidence. Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale denied him on one occasion, while indecision saw him squander another opportunity.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca remains unfazed, insisting that all top players go through difficult spells. “Cole is reacting well. He understands this is normal in football,” Maresca stated.

While Chelsea fans will be encouraged by the overall team performance, Palmer’s struggles remain a talking point. His creativity, which had been a bright spot in previous matches, has also dipped, raising concerns as Chelsea push for a top-four finish.

With crucial fixtures ahead, including matches against top-six rivals, Palmer will need to rediscover his confidence to help Chelsea in their Champions League qualification bid.
